Senator Coons to join Delawareans in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day

WILMINGTON, Del. – On Monday, Jan.
20, U.S. Senator Chris Coons (D-Del.) is scheduled to join Delawareans at
several celebrations for Martin Luther King Jr. Day in Wilmington, Newark, and
Dover.

Senator Coons
will start the morning at the Delaware State Bar Association’s Dr. Martin
Luther King Jr. Breakfast at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington
from 8 to 8:30 a.m.

Afterward, the senator will join the A. Philip Randolph
Institute – Delaware Chapter for its MLK Prayer Breakfast, where he will be the
keynote speaker. The event, which runs from 9 to 11 a.m., will take place at
the Executive Banquet & Conference Center in Newark.

Senator Coons will travel to Dover in the afternoon for
Delaware State University and Inner City Cultural League’s Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr. National Holiday Program. The celebration will happen at DSU’s
Education and Humanities Building from 12 to 2 p.m. The event is free and open
to the public.

From 3 to 4 p.m., Senator Coons will be in Wilmington for
the MLK Peace March and Community Celebration. The West Sides Grows event will
take place at West End Neighborhood House. The free event is open to the public.
